“Where do you see yourself in five years?”
Interviewers ask the question to draw out a
job candidate’s motivation and goals. Some
people use it as an icebreaker when they meet
somebody new. Counsellors and coaches ask
their students the question to guide their
dreams and solidify next steps.
There’s something special about a five-year
period. It’s short enough to envision but long
enough to change everything.
Have you ever been asked the five-year
question and found yourself surprised by your
own answer?
Because it’s clear to us that we are in a critical
moment for transformation in Canada, and the
Foundation must play a critical role.

that millions of people,
in every province and
territory, can get behind.
Our contemporary context is one of change
and challenge. We need to be a champion, be
bold, and be steadfast for gender justice and
equality alongside each and every one of you,
our allies and supporters.
And justice, equality, safety, and rights for every
woman, girl, and gender-diverse person is our
heart and soul.
When we asked it at the Canadian Women’s
Foundation, we spoke to an array of people
like you: partners, colleagues, and supporters.
These voices helped us form a new vision for a
high-impact five-year strategic plan.

Together, we will turn this vision into a reality.
Together, we will innovate, make the right
investments, and take the right risks. Together,
we will advance to the next level.
I want to thank you for being with us every step
of the way. Our donors and supporters have
been the foundation of this Foundation since
1991. Our Board, staff, and volunteers have been
movers and shakers for change. Our grantee
partners have been drivers of community impact.
That’s why we’re here today and we will never
give up.
This is a vision for everybody. I hope you see
