The ASBC Ministries
AGAPE
The AGAPE ministry assists the church with clinical counseling needs and helps dispel the
myth that people in need of mental health services are somehow out of the will of God.
Through intake and referral services to local clinicians and life/executive coaches as well
educational seminars on clinical issues and life development, this ministry offers services to
the members of the church and community who are in need.
AWANA
Awana is a children and youth Bible study ministry. The Awana name is taken from 2
Timothy 2:15 and stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed!” Each week, more
than 2.8 million kids ages 2–18 take part in Awana through more than 38,000 churches
in 113 countries. Centered on the gospel, Awana uses scripture memory in a fun, exciting
environment to teach children and youth to know, love and serve Christ locally and
globally.
Bikers For Christ
ASBC Bikers for Christ is a unified, purposeful family of like-minded followers of Jesus who
enjoy riding motorcycles, ministering to each other and ministering to others.

Cancer Care & Awareness
The Cancer Care & Awareness Ministry seeks to educate and instill hope in the lives of
the members of the Alfred Street Baptist Church who have been touched by cancer, by
providing information, empowerment, and peer support. Our goal is to serve as an
advocate for our congregation during any stage of the cancer life cycle, from preventative
measures, diagnosis information, treatment, and/or remission stages. Our members are
cancer survivors, caregivers, and family and friends of people affected by cancer. Our motto
is: “No one should have to face cancer alone. Your ASBC family is here for you!”
