THE ASBC 2021 FOUNDATION BOARD DIRECTORS (cont.)
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE: Shelvee H. Osborne works with the Foundation secretary with
communications. She has been a member of the Foundation Board since 2014, when she was first
appointed as a Church Trustee designee; she is now a Board appointee. She also works with the
Scholarship Committee. Shelvee is an usher and was elected to the Church Council Board of Directors. Shelvee is the past national president of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association,
as a proud alumnus of Norfolk State. Professionally, she is a retired Software Manager with the
IRS. She joined ASBC in 2004.
FUND RAISING COMMITTEE: Syrinda E. Page has been a member of the Foundation since
2019 and oversees our ‘planned giving’ efforts as part of the Foundation’s fund-raising efforts.
She also served on the Investment Subcommittee. Professionally, she was recently promoted to
Senior Vice President, Wealth Management for one of the nation’s premier investment and financial planning corporations, Morgan Stanley. She has been a financial services professional
and wealth management financial advisor for over 25 years. She is designated as a CERTIFIED
FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor. Syrinda is a graduate of
the University of Virginia , a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and has been a member
of ASBC since 1996.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: David L. Temple, Jr. has been a member of the Scholarship
Committee since 2009 as a pastoral appointee. A native of Richmond VA, he was among the
first cohort of African Americans admitted to the University of Virginia, earning baccalaureate and
masters degrees there. He is a former Fairfax County Public Schools disabilities teacher and
principal. He was the former Vice-Chair, Fairfax County Human Rights Commission, former VA
Deputy Secretary of Education and former National Science Foundation Education (postsecondary STEM diversity grants) Program Director. He is also the former Executive Director,
DC Mayor's Office of Grants Management. David is an ASBC Trinity Choir section leader and has
been a member of ASBC since 2001.

The Foundation Board of Directors is a working Board who perform all Board activities to include policy making, donor
management, financial management, financial reporting, investment planning, tax preparation, audit submission, fundraising, marketing, scholarship management, student mentoring, and donor correspondence. We do not have a staff, however
we do retain the services of a small accounting firm to do the financial management and reporting.
