SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: Dr. Georgia Arrington Booker‘s illustrious career in education encompasses a broad range of positions including teacher, school counselor, principal, educational consultant,
college Professor and Director of Counseling Services. She has served as scholarship judge for national
organizations, corporations, foundations and other scholarship providers including the Gates Millennium
Scholars Program, Coca Cola Scholars, National Association of Letter Carriers, Links, Girl Friends. Inc.,
and the Abramson Foundation. She holds degrees from Howard University and the University of Virginia.
She has served on the ASBC Foundation Scholarship Committee since its inception and was appointed
as a Director on the Board in 2019. She has been a member of ASBC since 1992.
FUND-RAISING COMMITTEE: Muriel D. Garr has been a member of the Fund-Raising Committee for 3
years. Muriel is an innovative and passionate Executive with hands-on experience in urban and rural
markets, supported with profound knowledge of social disparities, economic development, Community
Reinvestment Act (CRA) and small business lending, and supplier diversity. Deep understanding of
local, state and federal grant regulations, ordinances and compliance requirements. Well - equipped in
developing realistic plans and recommendations. Extremely competent in building meaningful relationships with stakeholders to forge long lasting bonds and business success. Remarkable ability to coordinate and to collaborate with diverse groups to meet community needs. Always, leading by example
demonstrating a high degree of honesty, integrity and professionalism and commitment to excellent service.” She has been a member of ASBC since 2012. She also serves on the Investment Subcommittee.
FINANCE COMMITTEE: Jhon L. McKnight was appointed to the ASBC Foundation Board in 2019 to
assist the treasurer in the execution of the numerous tasks involving financial and fiduciary matters of the
Foundation. Mr. McKnight has over 30 years of experience in financial services, investment management, estate planning and tax consulting. He is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and holds securities licenses and various insurance licenses with the State of Virginia, and contiguous states, in life,
health, disability and Long-Term Care. He is also a practicing Enrolled Agent (EA) representing profit and
non-profit businesses and taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service and
the U.S Tax Court. Mr. McKnight studied accounting and taxation at Brooklyn College and business finance at New York University School of Business. He has been a member of ASBC since 2011. He also
serves on the Investment Subcommittee.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE: Pamela V. McNeil is an alumna of Wellesley College and Harvard Business School and has been recognized by Wellesley College for her thirty years of innovative contributions and trailblazing leadership in volunteer service that embodies the college motto, "Non Ministrari
Sed Ministrare." She currently serves as Assistant Director for a local legal professional association.
She has served as an entrepreneurial administrator for both for-profit and non-profit organizations and is
a provocative speaker and writer. She has a passion for the success of African American youth in the
areas of scholarship, citizenship, leadership, stewardship, and entrepreneurship. She has been a member of ASBC since 2008.
FUND-RAISING COMMITTEE: Calvin C. Minor, is an alumna of Virginia Union University and Richmond
Polytechnic Institute, Richmond, VA. He began his career as a Math Teacher in the Richmond Public
Schools and the Fairfax County Schools. He is a retired Sales Executive with the Xerox Corporation and
Ricoh Corporation and Federal Services Sales Executive. He has worked in a variety of disciplines to
include consultant, Cyber Security and Vulnerable Assessment, and Human Resources. Calvin is a US
Army Veteran who served In the Corp of Engineers, Military District of Washington. Initially a pastoral
appointee but now a Board appointee, he has served in several offices on the Board as Secretary, President and Vice President-Fundraising for the Foundation. He has been a member of ASBC since 2012.
