systems theory, this study explored the sources of engineering students’ academic well-being at
one university in Qatar. Q methodology was applied to collect and analyze data using a 31-item Qsample. Forty-four male engineering students participated in this study, which resulted in the
emergence of a three-factor solution, comprising 24 significantly loading participants. The three
factors encompassed the most relevant sources of academic well-being of participants as a
collective, and were termed as follows: (F-1) focusing on what we can control, (F-2) having clear
direction on where we are going, and (F-3) appreciating what we are studying alone. Despite these
distinctive viewpoints, there were several consensus statements that were discussed alongside the
recommendations of this study for policy and practice.

This Q study explored the systems of influence on twenty-four male career counselors’ practices
in Qatari public schools along intrapersonal, relational and contextual dimensions. Results revealed
three perspectives, which differed based on the loci of supports. Accordingly, relationships matter
most for F-1, professional goals and values matter most for F-2, and work conditions matter most
for F-3. There was also a high level of consensus among factors, revealing shared viewpoints on
the supports and constraints to participants’ practices. These results are discussed in light of the
status of career counseling and the importance of research emerging from the Global South.

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to explore the interrelationship between research ethics and
research integrity with a focus on the primary forms of research misconduct, including plagiarism,
fabrication, and falsification. It also details the main factors for their occurrence, and the possible
ways for mitigating their use among scholars.
Methods: The method employed a detailed examination of the main ethical dilemmas, as delineated
in literature, as well as the factors leading to these ethical breaches and the strategies to mitigate
them. Further, the teaching experiences of the primary author are reflected in the development of
the model.
Results: The results of this article are represented in a model illustrating the interrelationship
between research ethics and research integrity. Further, a significant aspect of our article is the
identification of novel forms of research misconduct concerning the use of irrelevant or forced
citations or references.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the article highlights the substantial positive effects that adherence to
research ethics and integrity have on the academic well-being of scholars.

In this chapter, we use Foucault’s problematization approach to analyze the ways in which the
concept of Problem- and Project-based Learning (PBL) is constructed and contested within the
GCC higher education context, with a particular focus on the Qatari case. The discussion centers
on how the discourse around PBL has been shaped in the particular historical, social and political
context, and the ways in which it has been framed as a solution to certain educational problems.
Along these lines, three main themes are illustrated, namely (1) false universalism and pedagogic
hegemony, (2) from fidelity of implementation to systems-thinking perspectives, and (3) going
