and teachers training, and created an evaluation system based on modern grounds that support
science teaching according to modern global trends. The State of Qatar has three forces that lead to
rapid access to the reform and development processes, namely: an ambitious vision, adequate
resources, and political will. The “general framework for the national curriculum” in Qatar reflects
a competency-based curriculum. The science curriculum requires developing five core
competencies: research and inquiry, communication, creative and critical thinking, collaboration
and participation, and problem-solving. Qatar is keen on making its students participate in
international exams, namely: (TIMSS, PISA, PERLS). The findings showed that students'
performance in science has improved during their participation from 2007 until 2019. However,
their performance level and their global ranking failed to reach the required international level. The
most important pillars that Qatar adopts in its plans are both education and scientific research in
order to become a modern state with a knowledge-based economy, global competitiveness, and
sustainable development. Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Social Development
undertakes many reforms in education, training, occupation, and educational aspects such as
science and technology. Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSCP) made significant
contributions in this field. Qatar University has made a major contribution also. Qatar has taken
significant steps in the field of digital transformation and using information and communication
technology, to provide integrated technology with the highest quality. The State of Qatar has
advantages that qualify it to benefit from artificial intelligence data, which is why a comprehensive
national strategy for artificial intelligence has been prepared.
