Understanding teachers' perceptions of STEM education is crucial to ensure the quality of teaching
and learning provided for the students in the classrooms. This study aimed to investigate science
teachers’ perceptions towards STEM education in primary public schools in the State of Qatar in
terms of teachers' knowledge, STEM teaching requirements, and impact on students' outcomes.
This study followed a sequential explanatory mixed-method approach. Quantitative data was
collected by surveying (148) science teachers, while qualitative data was obtained using four focus
groups. Results indicated that teachers have relatively high perceptions towards STEM education.
However, the findings highlighted the need to increase teachers’ understanding and knowledge of
STEM disciplines and their approaches to integration.

ھﺪﻓﺖ ھﺬه اﻟﺪراﺳﺔ اﻟﺘﺤﻘﻖ ﻣﻦ ﺗﻀﻤﯿﻦ ﻣﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت اﻟﻘﺮن اﻟﺤﺎدي واﻟﻌﺸﺮﯾﻦ اﻟﻌﻠﻤﯿﺔ ﻓﻲ ﻛﺘﺐ اﻟﻌﻠﻮم ﻟﻠﻤﺮﺣﻠﺔ اﻻﺑﺘﺪاﺋﯿﺔ ﻓﻲ دوﻟﺔ
وﻛﺸﻔﺖ. ﺗﻢ اﺳﺘﺨﺪام اﻟﻤﻨﮭﺞ اﻟﻮﺻﻔﻲ اﻟﺘﺤﻠﯿﻠﻲ ﻣﻦ ﺧﻼل ﺑﻨﺎء أداة ﻟﺘﺤﻠﯿﻞ اﻟﻤﺤﺘﻮى ﻟﻘﯿﺎس درﺟﺔ ﺗﻮاﻓﺮ اﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت اﻟﻌﻠﻤﯿﺔ.ﻗﻄﺮ
ﺣﯿﺚ ﺑﻠﻎ ﻣﺠﻤﻮع ﻣﺘﻮﺳﻄﺎت ﻧﺴﺐ،ﻧﺘﺎﺋﺞ اﻟﺪراﺳﺔ ﻋﻦ درﺟﺔ ﺗﻀﻤﯿﻦ ﻣﺘﻮﺳﻄﺔ ﻟﮭﺬه اﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت ﻓﻲ ﻛﺘﺐ اﻟﻌﻠﻮم ﻟﻠﻤﺮﺣﻠﺔ اﻻﺑﺘﺪاﺋﯿﺔ
ّ ،% 42.8 ﺗﻮاﻓﺮ ھﺬه اﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت
ﺛﻢ،%19.8 "اﻟﺜﻘﺎﻓﺔ اﻟﺼﺤﯿﺔ ﺑﻨﺴﺒﺔ،ﺗﻮاﻓﺮا ﻓﻲ ﻛﺘﺐ اﻟﻌﻠﻮم ھﻲ
وأن أﻛﺜﺮ ھﺬه اﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت

وﻟﻢ ﯾﺮد أي ﺗﻀﻤﯿﻦ ﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت "اﻟﺜﻘﺎﻓﺔ، أ ّﻣﺎ ﺑﻘﯿﺔ اﻟﻤﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت ﻓﺠﺎء ﺗﻀﻤﯿﻨﮭﺎ ﺑﺪرﺟﺔ ﺿﻌﯿﻔﺔ ﺟﺪًا،%15.1 "اﻟﺜﻘﺎﻓﺔ اﻟﺒﯿﺌﯿﺔ ﺑﻨﺴﺒﺔ
وزﯾﺎدة، وأوﺻﺖ اﻟﺪراﺳﺔ ﺑﺘﻀﻤﯿﻦ ﻣﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت اﻟﺜﻘﺎﻓﺔ اﻟﻤﺎﻟﯿﺔ ﻓﻲ ﻛﺘﺐ اﻟﻌﻠﻮم. ورﯾﺎدة اﻷﻋﻤﺎل، واﻟﺘﺠﺎرﯾﺔ، واﻻﻗﺘﺼﺎدﯾﺔ،اﻟﻤﺎﻟﯿﺔ
وأوﺻﺖ اﻟﺪراﺳﺔ ﺑﺘﻀﻤﯿﻦ ﻛﺘﺐ اﻟﻌﻠﻮم ﻟﻠﻤﺮﺣﻠﺔ اﻻﺑﺘﺪاﺋﯿﺔ ﻟﻤﻮاﺿﯿﻊ. واﻟﺜﻘﺎﻓﺔ اﻟﻤﺪﻧﯿﺔ،ﻧﺴﺒﺔ ﺗﻀﻤﯿﻦ ﻣﻮﺿﻮﻋﺎت اﻟﻮﻋﻲ اﻟﻌﺎﻟﻤﻲ
و"اﻟﻮﻋﻲ،" وزﯾﺎدة اﻟﻮزن اﻟﻨﺴﺒﻲ ﻟﺘﻀﻤﯿﻦ ﻣﻮاﺿﯿﻊ "اﻟﺜﻘﺎﻓﺔ اﻟﻤﺪﻧﯿﺔ،""اﻟﺜﻘﺎﻓﺔ اﻟﻤﺎﻟﯿﺔ واﻻﻗﺘﺼﺎدﯾﺔ واﻟﺘﺠﺎرﯾﺔ ورﯾﺎدة اﻷﻋﻤﺎل

The State of Qatar has taken pioneering steps to reform and develop its educational system to match
the education systems in developed countries and to fulfill the Qatar National Vision 2030. Qatar
has made great efforts to elevate science education due to its close relationship with the nation’s
development. In this regard, it has built schools by the latest international standards and provided
a rich learning environment for interactive learning. It has developed modern national standards
that imitate international standards, provided modern curricula for motivating learning,
