Developing Countries. STRATEGIES, 37, (3). Forthcoming.
Overall, sports migration is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that has significant
implications for athletes, their home countries, and the countries they migrate too. Hence, this a
topic that requires careful consideration and analysis to better understand the motivations,
influences, and potential benefits of sports migration. Developing countries can take several steps
to mitigate the negative effects of sports migration. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to provide

Intention and Perceived Constraints in Offering Online Lessons Using the Theory of Planned
Behavior: A Multi-Country Analysis. Behavioral. Sciences. 14, 305.
Background: The COVID-19 global Pandemic has significantly influenced different sectors
including education. All fields of education have shown resiliency, however, more experiential
disciplines such as physical education have been impacted more significantly due to their
pedagogical structure.
Aims: Guided by the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), the purpose of this study was to
determine the influence of Physical Education Teachers’ (PET) attitudes, their perceived behavioral
control, and the influence of subjective norms on their intention to deliver physical education
lessons online during the COVID-19 global pandemic. As an extension to the Theory of Planned
Behaviour, PETs’ constraints (intrapersonal, interpersonal, and structural) to deliver physical
education lessons online were also investigated.
Method: A cross-sectional, multicountry survey study was conducted among a convenience
sample of PETs who resided in 1 of 5 countries: China, Malaysia, Philippines, Turkey, and the
United States. An online self-reported questionnaire was used for data collection. To investigate
the associations proposed in the TPB, a 15-item scale focusing on teachers’ intention to teach
physical education courses online was developed. A total of 12 items were also used to investigate
perceived constraints to teach physical education courses online. A total of 928 PETs from five
different countries participated in the research.
Findings: Results highlighted the significant influence of perceived behavioural control and
attitudes on PETs’ intention to deliver online courses. Constraints to online teaching had a
considerably large negative impact on attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural
