This study aimed to reveal the reasons for the reluctance of public-school students in Jordan to use
the Darsak Educational Platform (DEP) during the Covid-19 pandemic, from their point of view.
To achieve the aim of the study, the researchers used the qualitative approach in its
phenomenological form. The study sample consisted of (12) male and female students from
different public school in Jordan, and they were chosen by the intentional method. To collect the
qualitative data from the study sample, a semi-structured interviews were used to collect data, as
each participant was interviewed twice. The results of the study showed that there are many reasons
that led to the reluctance of public-school students in Jordan to use DEP during the Covid-19
pandemic. It was represented by the student’s poor readiness to learn through DEP, the lack of the
design of the DEP according to international design standards, the poor physical and technical
situation represented by the lack of availability of appropriate computers, the unsustainability of
Internet services, the difficulty of the curriculum and the method of evaluation, and the limited
teachers’ competencies needed in the virtual learning environment. In light of the results of this
study, the researchers recommend the necessity of reconsidering the way in which your lesson
platform is designed; by involving specialized designers and experts with educational technology,
multimedia and others. Further, they recommend appropriate training for students in the effective
use of the platform.
