The study is aimed at measuring the impact of the training program on the development of
pragmatic language skills in children with autism spectrum disorder. The study sample consisted
of 26 children with autism spectrum disorder, ranging between 5-10 years from children enrolled
in both the Autism communication Center and the Oxygen Center for Care and Rehabilitation, who
were chosen by the available sample and randomly distributed equally into two groups:
experimental and control.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, two scales were prepared: the scale of pragmatic
language skills for children with autism spectrum disorder, and a training program for developing
pragmatic language skills, which is segmented into (6) dimensions.
The results of this study revealed that there were statistically significant differences in favor of the
experimental group between the pre and post measurement on the scale of the pragmatic language
skills on the total measurement, due to the training program, and there were statistically significant
differences on all dimensions except the context of communication dimension. The results also
showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the post and follow-up
applications on the members of the experimental group.
