UniSA 2024 Scholarships and Grants Ceremony - Flipbook - Page 5
Vice Chancellor’s Welcome
For more than three decades, the
University of South Australia has aimed
to provide the best possible learning
opportunities for people from all
backgrounds and circumstances in
life. One of UniSA’s defining values as
an institution is equitable access to
education, and our scholarships and
grants program is central to that ideal.
Education is transformational, and this
program ensures that life-changing
potential is accessible to everyone,
providing exceptional students from all
walks of life the opportunity to shine.
For many, that support helps overcome
financial barriers – and I thank our
donors greatly for making that possible
– but, just as importantly, this program
shows our students they are respected,
needed, and trusted.
Education is always an investment in
the future, and through this program,
we are telling our most promising
students that we have faith in them to
make that future better for all of us –
and that they can count on our support
to do so. That is a commitment to our
community, and that has always been
the UniSA vision.
I thank our academic and professional
staff, alumni, corporate and private
donors, and the many other friends of
the University who share and support
that vision. Importantly, it is a vision we
are carrying into the creation of a new
university in South Australia, and it is
vital we reaffirm our commitment to
equity and access as we work to shape
that new institution.
As we look to the future, we are proud
to continue our commitment to
providing life-changing opportunities
to students in South Australia, and we
hope the generosity and great potential
represented by our current scholarships
and grants program stands as an
inspiration for that work in the years
ahead.
