Maureen and Richard Oborn
Maureen Oborn, who taught in special education and
worked with people with disabilities, and Richard Oborn,
a clinical psychologist who worked in community
mental health, generously support scholarships for
Aboriginal and refugee students. They have also
committed a significant bequest to establish a Higher
Degree by Research Excellence Scholarship.
Dr Terry Farquharson
Dr Farquharson is a retired sport and exercise physician
and is currently a vocationally registered GP and
Clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide. He has
established two scholarships in Pharmacy at UniSA,
one undergraduate and one a top-up PhD scholarship.
His bequest will ensure that these scholarships will
continue for future generations of deserving students.
Vizma and Jim Hazel
Vizma Hazel and Jim Hazel, UniSA’s Pro Chancellor
and Council Member, have supported the University
for many years and established the Hazel Family
Scholarship to assist students from the western
suburbs of Adelaide or Lucindale in regional South
Australia.
Joyti Zwar
Joyti Zwar, Rural Health Physiotherapy Academic at
UniSA, has committed a generous bequest to create
a scholarship for rural students enrolled in the field of
Physiotherapy.

Pauline and Frank Steiner
Pauline Steiner, a UniSA Business graduate, worked in the
public sector and Frank Steiner had a successful career in
the hotel industry. Pauline and Frank have supported the
University’s Scholarships and Student Hardship Funds and
have committed a gift in their Wills to ensure their legacy
will help future students.
Murray Bunton
Murray Bunton, co-founder and Chairperson of Raisely, a
fundraising platform, has generously given to the David
Bunton PhD Scholarship to support an Aboriginal PhD
student exploring aspects of Australian First Nations
Peoples’ and South Sea Islanders’ history.
Professor Phyllis Tharenou
Professor Phyllis Tharenou worked as an organisational
psychologist, human resource management researcher, and
university leader, including at the UniSA Business School
from 2004 to 2008. Prof Tharenou’s generous bequest will
support the University’s Psychology programs.
Hetzel Group
Professor Marie Wilson
Professor Marie Wilson joined the Chancellor’s Club and
the Hetzel Group in 2022.
Prof Wilson undertook a sabbatical in 2022 following her
role as the inaugural Chief Academic Services Officer for
UniSA, where she was previously the Pro Vice Chancellor
for Business and Law. Prof Wilson has supported student
scholarships at UniSA for many years and has established
a named PhD Scholarship to support research into
workplace flexibility.
