CONCLUSION
Over the last three decades, Ontario’s built environment has
undergone a significant transformation. As the province’s
population continues to grow, the demand for transportation,
housing, and other essential services has skyrocketed, prompting
numerous changes in the way we design and build.
One of the most significant changes in Ontario’s built
environment has been the shift towards higher density living.
With urbanization and land scarcity, the construction of high-rise
buildings has become more prevalent, especially in major cities
such as Toronto.
The province’s transportation infrastructure has also undergone
significant changes. In the past three decades, Ontario has
invested heavily in public transit, expanding and modernizing
its subway, bus, and train systems. The construction of new
highways and bridges has also improved access to remote areas,
promoting economic development and enhancing trade.
