Support approachesAt Active Prospects we do not believe that one size can fit all, so we have developed a Complex NeedsFramework that draws on different approaches to create the right support for the person. The framework isled by our Clinical Director, who assesses each person’s needs, preferences and skills, considers compatibilitywith other people’s and staff preferences, and designs the support approach individually in conjunction withthe person, their family and other professionals involved in the person’s life. The key approaches we use include:Capable Environments – we plan and design our services around theneeds of the individuals, creating robust homes that meet the sensory needs ofindividuals and are still cosy and homely.Aspiring Lives – all our support aims to achieve the same vision, people livingtheir best life. This includes celebrating the mundane as well as the exceptional inline with Gloriously ordinary lives movement.Wellbeing Outcomes – we utilise a wellbeing approach measured acrosseight domains on the basis that if you feel content, you are more able to cope andbetter equipped to manage life’s ups and downs.Positive Behaviour Support – we provide functional assessments, positive behaviour support plans and behavioural strategies where needed andappropriate.Social Prescription and Wellbeing Coaching – we have continueddeveloping a social prescription approach identifying activities, experiences, andopportunities to give wellbeing a bump start or new direction. Thanks to theMental Health Investment Fund, Suicide Prevention Grant and Nationwide, we arenow supporting 40 people to find their pathway to better wellbeing.4
