What are complex needs?
At Active Prospects we support over 36 people that
are considered to have Complex Needs. We define
this as:
+ Having multiple diagnoses including Autism,
Learning Disabilities, Serious Mental Illness and
+ Histories of Behaviour that puts themselves or
others at risk of harm, or significantly impacts
quality of life and
+ Frequent previous placement breakdowns or
frequent or long-term hospital admission
We now support 5 individuals who were in hospital
settings between 10 and 26 years and have been
settled in supported living for over 2 years.
Many of the people we support have experienced
traumatic life events, disrupted relationships and
education, and may have become institutionalised.
