PL ANETMITIGATING CLIMATE CHANGE AND GHG EMISSIONSTo address GHG emissions, our team engagedwith an independent third party to conductthe 昀椀rst assessment of our carbon footprintacross operations in 2022. This assessmentnot only highlighted our current environmentalimpact but also served as our baseline forsetting reduction targets. Aligned with oursustainability commitment, we aim to reduceGHG emissions 25% by 2030. Facility managersand the Sustainability Committee oversee theimplementation of reduction initiatives, suchas investing in energy-e昀케cient technologies, exploring renewable energy sources, andminimizing resource consumption.INDEPENDENTLY MEASUREAND BENCHMARKWe expanded our data collection andGHG emissions calculation capabilitiesby sourcing a third-party software, GreenProject Technologies. This software empowersour management team to make insightfuland impactful decisions related to energyuse and GHG emissions. We also installed asub-metering system, Onset data loggers,to capture real-time data and analyticson energy usage at our facilities. The datainsights allow Accupac to target andoptimize energy-saving projects. Ongoing2023 GHG Emissions by Scope(MT CO2e)measurement of our energy usage is a keypillar of our decarbonization plan.In 2023, Accupac accounted for 6,056 MTCO2e—a 3.6% decrease compared to the 2022baseline. In addition to this absolute reduction,we realized a 2.6% reduction in our GHGemissions intensity (based on units produced)metric. Our emissions sources include mobilecombustion (gasoline and diesel), stationarycombustion (natural gas and propane), andpurchased electricity. The emissions mixwas comprised of 57% purchased electricity,42% stationary combustion, and 1% mobilecombustion. For more detailed information, see the 昀椀gure below and this report’s dataappendix. GHG emissions are calculated usingthe GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. In 2023, Accupac conducted a scope 3spend-based screening with the intentionof better understanding our largest scope 3categories. The screening found that category1 (purchased goods and services), category 12(end-of-life treatment of sold products), andcategory 9 (downstream transportation anddistribution) are Accupac’s highest categories. With this information, we can prioritize whereto focus on collecting more granular datato improve the extensiveness of our GHGinventory moving forward.2023 GHG Emissions by Source(MT CO2e)89Stationary CombustionScope 1Scope 23,450Purchased Electricity2,5172,6062023 GHG Emissions by Scope and FacilityFacilityMobile Combustion(MT CO2e)Scope 1Scope 21,5692,349Lakewood696697Schoolhouse253403Mainland2434502023 S U STA I NA B I L I T Y R E PO RT
