National Junior College’s
Funtasia Charity Carnival

On 11 May 2024, National Junior College
(NJC) held its first inaugural Funtasia event;
a collaboration with Autism Association
(Singapore)(AA(S)) to raise funds for the
Eden Centres for Adults via a fundraising
carnival.
The NJC Funtasia carnival was a spectacular
showcase of creativity, talent and
community spirit. The event featured a
diverse range of activities including carnival
games, live performances, and an array of
food stalls, all meticulously put together
by the dedicated NJC students and staff.
The atmosphere was electrifying, with
families, friends, and members of the public
coming together to enjoy the festivities.
Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who
is also an NJC alumni, graced the event,
and interacted with NJC and Eden School
students, as well as members of the public.
During the event, some students from
Eden School (Campus 2) were given an
opportunity to participate at the carnival
by manning various booths. This unique
experience allowed them to develop their
social and communication skills while
contributing to the event’s success. NJC
students served as buddies to the Eden
School seniors, guiding and supporting them
at the respective booths. This partnership
not only fostered meaningful interactions
but also provided a valuable learning
experience for both groups of students.
For the Eden Centres for Adults, the funds
raised through Funtasia will go a long way
in supporting their mission to enhance the
quality of life for adults with autism. The
centres focus on providing a nurturing
environment where our clients can develop
essential life skills, engage in meaningful
activities, and build lasting friendships.
Funds raised from the NJC Funtasia event
will enable the centres to expand their
programmes, improve facilities and offer
more opportunities for each client to thrive.
We are deeply grateful to the NJC
community for their unwavering support
and commitment in making a difference
in the lives of those we serve. We would
also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to
all the attendees, volunteers, and sponsors
who played a vital role in making the event
a success. Your generosity and compassion
are truly inspiring, and we are honoured to
have you as partners in our journey.
Thank you to the community at NJC for
your incredible support and for being a
beacon of hope and joy for our clients and
their families.
Together, we can make a difference.
