2022-2023 Key Accomplishments
EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
Partnered with Messiah University and
began piloting a Students-in-Residence
Fellowship Program with the university.
Also, a partnership with Central Penn
College secured dementia education
opportunities for team members.
IMPROVEMENTS
We made changes to our admissions
policy, reduced our health care bed license
from 161 to 139, completed building
mediation, and began the transition to a
new culinary partner. We also completed
an operational assessment and engaged a
technology and facilities assessment.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
The 2022 Rising Leaders cohort graduated
and the 2023 cohort was named.
Organizational Council participated in
“Starting Block” leadership training and
the Leadership Team presented “Shark
Tank” pitches on our core values. Resident
“Inspiring Leaders” also shared leadership
stories with team members.
SATELLITE CAMPUS
B.I.G EXPO
We held our 昀椀rst annual B.I.G. Expo for
team members and residents, which
brought the objectives of our strategic
plan to life through interactive exhibits.
ORGANIZATION HISTORY
The history and origin story of Messiah
Lifeways was captured via video to serve
as a resource for members of
our community.
Signi昀椀cant progress was made with
our satellite campus. Variance was secured,
昀椀nancial proforma was completed, design
work began, and a new government
relations partner was secured to pursue
potential public funding.
FINANCIALS
Jarrod Leo joined the Executive Team as
CFO. Additionally, we evaluated several
development projects including two
locations in Harrisburg and Liberty Forge.
Employee tax credit potential was
also explored.
