SYDNEY
Dear Sir:Herewith I enclose by direction of the Council of
Parents' and Citizens' Associations of Broken Hill copy of letter
forwarded to the Minister for Education concerning the long
deferred establishment of a High School.
I feel sure that it is
not necessary to enlarge on the necessity for such an institution
in Broken Hill nor to ask you to use your best endeavours to expedite the matter.
High Schools have now bean established pretty generally throughout the State and in the towns of considerably less
importance than Broken Hill,—s for example, gl.udgee and Hay.
In addition to being the third town in the State Broken Hill
is also the centre of one of the largest school districts and by
reason of its isolation should be provided with the best means
of education at the disposal of the Government.
As f.A.r as I can gather a High School for Broken Hill has
been approved of and a site for the same selected.
With your
assistance the Council feels that this great educational necessity
will be speedily obtained.
I am, Sir
