Dubbo West.
7th July1 1945.
Mr A.H.Jacobs,
Inspector of Schools,
DUBBO.
Dear Mr Jacobs,
when the Education Department took four acres of my
West Dubbo estate for Public School purposes a square block was
street
required. This upset my plan of subdivision as a mlimat was to run
east and west alibng the electric light line (shown as a telephone
line on the plan). I was also put to the expense of having this
electric light line moved to East Street and the water pipe line
put underground. On top of this, the Departmental square block has
left me with an arLa of land which will be without access in the new
plan of subdivision I have in mind. Before land is resumed I think
these matters should be taken into consideration and some attempt
should be made this time to suit my conveniance and leave me with
a residue of land that will be readily saleable.
Instead of taking an acre of readily saleable land on
the southern boundary of the present block I suggest that the acre
block (approx.) outlined in blue on the attached plan be taken as an
extension of the present school block. As a concession to the
Department I am willing the sell this area at fifty pounds (L50) per
acre free of any expense in the transaction to me as vendor and with
the stipulation that I be left depths of 162 feet for the building
blocks facing Whylandra Street.
-Yours
faithfully,
