LETTER FROM
RICHARD H. BROWN
Dear York Symphony Village,
As we continue the march toward our 100th
Anniversary in 2033, I am constantly reminded
of the caring generosity of our York Community.
From the York Symphony Orchestra’s founding
in 1933, through wars, health crises, and difficult
economic times, the musical spirits of York never
stopped and they helped make days brighter
and more cheerful.
On behalf of the YSO Board of Directors,
Musicians and Staff, we thank all our patrons,
donors, sponsors and grantors who maintained
and, in many cases, increased their support
during 2023-24.
This past year more than 650 individuals, businesses, organizations and
foundations contributed from $10.00 to $25,000 and more to support the
mission of the YSO, raising more than $650,000 of our roughly $1.3 million-dollar
annual budget. And 93 of the 600 total donors were first time contributors.
In addition to the above annual contributions, we are now in the eighth year of
actively building endowment assets. We invite you to play a very important role
in securing the future of the York Symphony Orchestra and Chorus by helping
to build our endowment fund? Do you have a favorite musical instrument or
favorite YSO musician that you would like to honor? Simply contact me and
we can discuss required amounts and details for the various instrument chairs
and positions.
As you review the YSO Donor Pages that follow, please take special note of your
neighbors, friends, business owners and community leaders that are helping
to keep fine Classical and Pops music playing in York. And then take a moment
to thank them for supporting the York Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. They
will appreciate that you noticed.
Now, if you do not see your name on any of the lists, please consider becoming
a supporting member of the YSO Family in a way that is most comfortable for
you. I welcome your call/text or email as noted below, or you may simply scan
on the QR Code below to set up a monthly contribution!
Every donor is important and every donation makes a difference!
Thank you and best wishes,
Richard H. Brown
