All About
Dave Walsh
Things started strong, then they got stronger
Dave Walsh is an incredible inspiration. Born in Brighton in
1986, he holds many world titles and is a world recordbreaker for strength competitions. He has three children
who are incredibly proud of him.
Dave started his interest in strength and fitness in 2012
when he started competing in able-bodied strength
challenges.
It all changed when his arm went numb, and he started losing feeling in the rest of his body. He
went to the doctors, and they told him he had Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a disease that means you lose
some feeling in your body.
Dave was now in a wheelchair. He thought he would never be able to enter a competition again, but
he was wrong!
A true winner
Dave started watching videos about strong people who used wheelchairs. He found them inspiring and
started doing competitions again but in his wheelchair.
Since then, Dave has won lots of awards and trophies. In fact, he became the Strongest Adaptive Man in
2023.
On 28 May 2023, Dave made Guinness World Records History when he broke the world record for
heaviest wheelchair vehicle pull. He pulled a 9,360kg truck (as heavy as seven and a half normal cars).
Quotes from Dave
Dave says that starting again with strength sport had a huge impact on him.
