more than one generation of a family. We believe this
depth of knowledge and experience is what gives us
the upper hand in problem solving for our clients and is
what many see as our competitive advantage. This is
also true of the Catterick office, and this knowledge has
led to the growth of niche products including shoot
cancellation and woodlands risks for which they are
now renowned.
Q. What do you see as the main goals of the
Northern Region moving forwards?
Our main objective is to maximise the benefits offered
by our move to Bank House and of the Yorkshire office
to Catterick. Additionally we are striving to grow the
commercial element of the business and to empower
all our Account Executives to expand their skills.
Agricultural production is no longer the only business
for most farms and estates, and this diversification by
our clients into new areas provides the perfect
opportunity for staff to develop skills and knowledge
in new areas.
We also see the move as an ideal stepping stone in
attracting high calibre staff and continuing our
impressive record of staff retention. Lycetts has always
prided itself on looking at the person rather than the
skills they have when recruiting. Skills can be learnt but
ambition and enthusiasm, plus an understanding of our
client base, are just as important to us. We intend to
continue this, and as a company, we hope to gain a
greater depth of technical knowledge through learning
and development and recruiting the right people.
Times are tough for many of our clients at present, but
we see ourselves as well placed to take on the challenge
by continuing to provide a quality service as well as
innovative products to our ever-expanding client base.
