Hailing originally from the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California,
Dr. Liu received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology from
UC Berkeley, with a minor in Global Poverty and Practice from the
Blum Center for Developing Economies. She then completed her
medical training as part of the T32 Medical Scientist Training Program
(MD/PhD) at UC San Diego. Her PhD work in the Neurosciences
Graduate Program focused on testing noninvasive, quantitative
functional neuroimaging methods to better understand the working
human brain, and was in part funded by an NIH/NIMH F30 training
grant. After completing her MD, she stayed in San Diego for her
Transitional Year internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital, where she was
elected to the Transitional Year Program Evaluation Committee and
the Residency Advisory Committee. She is now most excited to be
back in Los Angeles to start Radiation Oncology training at UCLA.
