On completion, it was excellent to be able to look at the
subtle transformation achieved with the seamless reintegration of the retained fabric. The floor is levelled, with
the ramps creating an inclusive, step-free environment.
We enjoyed the challenges the project threw up and were
really pleased to be able to engage with the public during
the ‘Conservation in Action’ day. The project is also a
testimony to the heritage craft skills needed to preserve
and repair ecclesiastical buildings, ensuring that they
remain accessible for visitors and worshippers alike.
