Oman Air names Con Korfiatis
as
its CEO
Oman Air has appointed Con Korfiatis as the airline’s new
Chief Executive Officer. Korfiatis’s professional background, combined with his expertise in organisational
transformation and strategy development, positions him
perfectly to lead Oman Air through this critical phase of its
transformation.
Korfiatis brings over 30 years of aviation experience to the
new role and will spearhead the airline’s efforts to stabilise
and improve its financial operations. He has assumed
roles as CEO at several outfits in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. He has also founded
four startups and held leadership roles in finance, marketing, operations, and other
divisions at major world airlines.
Onno Pietersma new COO of Silk Way
West Airlines
Silk Way West Airlines
has announced the
appointment of Onno
Pietersma as its new
Chief Operating
Officer. In this new
role, Pietersma will
champion critical
initiatives designed to
enhance the stability
and reliability of the expanding Silk Way West
Airlines’ operations.
Pietersma brings over twenty-five years of
aviation industry experience to the table,
with a primary focus on engineering and
maintenance, as well as expertise in
consulting, controlling, sales, and customer
support. He spent nearly 13 years at
Cargolux, where his most recent role was
Executive Vice President of Maintenance and
Engineering. Prior to that, he held positions
at KLM and KPMG.
Anshum Jain assumes VP– Global
Supply Chain role at Schneider
Electric India
Schneider Electric
announced the
appointment of
Anshum Jain as Vice
President of its Global
Supply Chain.
Anshum will be based
in India and spearhead efforts to
elevate the performance of the vertical while fostering the
development of supply chain capabilities in
alignment with the company’s overarching
objectives.
With 27 years of extensive experience in
managing various facets of manufacturing,
operations, and supply chain, Anshuman
brings a wealth of knowledge garnered from
navigating the intricacies of global operations, diverse business environments, and
international markets. Prior to joining
Schneider, he served as COO of Daimler India
Commercial Vehicles and prior to that, held
pivotal roles at Bosch (India), Cummins (US),
MTU Detroit Diesel (US), Terex (India), and
John Deere (India).

Badri to lead its Q-commerce offering
Flipkart’s Senior Vice
President and Group
Head of Supply Chain,
Hemant Badri has
been entrusted with
additional responsibility to spearhead
the company’s
venture into the quick
commerce segment.
Badri has been associated with Flipkart for
over three years, having joined in 2021. Prior
to joining Flipkart, Badri was associated with
FMCG giant Unilever for over a decade across
various positions and ending his tenure as VP
of Worldwide Planning, Analytics, Customer
Experience, and Europe Operational Planning.

has appointed Vishal
Sharma as Vice
President of
Transportation and
Procurement.
A seasoned logistics
industry leader,
Sharma brings about
three decades of
experience. He has occupied strategic
leadership roles across diverse industries
and regions and has effectively overseen
business portfolios known for their scale
and complexity, driving their growth and
success. In his previous role at Adani
Enterprises, Sharma oversaw operations
and commercial activities for a portfolio
comprising 59 million tonnes of coal and
other commodities, totaling a spend base of
`6600 crore in FY23. His duties included
engaging with over 2000 customers
throughout India via road and rail, while also
supervising three distinct business
segments.
Air Charter Service (ACS) announced Andrew
Summers as Regional Director for its
Mainland European offices and appointed
Arthur Guibert as the new Chief Executive
Officer for its Switzerland office in Geneva.
Andrew will be responsible for steering ACS’s
operations across Europe and all three
divisions – cargo, private jets and group
travel. Andrew has been with ACS for 18
years. Over the past decade, Andrew has
been head of ACS’s IMEA region, based out of
Dubai. Arthur brings with him a wealth of
experience, across Europe, in both private
jets and customer service. He will enhance
ACS’s charter offering.

appointed Chief
Executive Officer of
Jettainer, Unit Load
Device (ULD)
management
services, effective
June 01, 2024. He
succeeds Thomas
Sonntag, who has overseen the company’s
international growth since 2019.
An experienced air freight sector expert, Dr
Jan-Wilhelm has been driving industry-wide
digital transformation projects and process
improvement initiatives for more than 20
years. Together with IATA and the Digital Test
Field Air Cargo, he drove forward the ONE
Record initiative. Dr Jan-Wilhelm held various
positions within the Lufthansa Group and
was most recently responsible for global
customer service and handling management
at Lufthansa Cargo.
Captain Alpesh Abhay
Sharma has been
named Chief
Operating Officer of
the container
business at J M Baxi
Ports & Logistics. In
this capacity, he will
assume overall
responsibility for the
container business operations, encompassing
ICD, CFS, and Rail. He will also supervise the
sales and operational efficiency of container
terminals within J M Baxi’s business.
Alpesh joins J M Baxi, after his 13 year stint
at Dubai’s DP World, where he served in
various key roles across India and Southeast
Asia. During his time at DP World, he held
significant positions such as Vice President
of Commercial (Ports and Terminals) for
Southeast Asia, CEO for Thailand, CEO of LCIT
Terminals in Thailand, and CEO of NSICT at
Jawaharlal Nehru Port.
