Restrictive practice
At Active Prospects we are committed to providing the least possible restrictions to maintain safety and
take pride in being creative and having a positive approach to risk taking to achieve this goal.
In 2022-2023 51% of the people we support with complex
needs had a court of protection approved deprivation of liberty
safeguard plan. These include the following restrictions:

In 2022-2023...
1 person that successfully ended their
CoP DOLS and is now able to manage their
own safety without an intervention that
impedes their liberty.
There were 4 single uses of
physical intervention across
the whole year.
These were all used to walk away from
a difficult environment or situation.
There were 0 uses
of restraint.
Our restrictive practice profile is significantly different to
hospital settings and enables trust and self-management
to build upon by people, enabling them to make profound
changes in their lives with our skilled support.
