Introductory videos
• Students could make short videos, where they introduce themselves. Then encourage the students to ask a
few questions so they can start exchanging.
Virtual tours
Encourage students to dive into the digital world and uncover unique perspectives of their local town! Searching
for your town on YouTube might reveal stunning drone footage, historical videos, or fascinating virtual tours that
ofer a step back in time.
Students can create a comprehensive virtual tour of their town using tools like Google Maps and Google Earth.
For an interactive touch, platforms such as Genially allow them to include photos, video footage, and even voiceovers, making the experience engaging and personalised.
Beyond the Local Area:
Under normal circumstances, school exchanges typically explore areas within a couple of hours of the school.
Why not challenge students to research and present virtual tours of locations across Ireland where they9d like to
take their exchange partners? This can be structured as a WebQuest, encouraging them to find footage, prepare
engaging content, and create questions for partner classes.
