Breathing a sigh of relief
Established in 2012 Rickards Period Plastering Ltd has been working on many unique and varied
properties within East Anglia.
We set up RPP over 12 years ago (having been a Lime fan
and user since the mid 1990’s) and have enjoyed the
journey of working on a raft of period properties and on
that journey have had the privilege to work on all
manner of properties, from grand houses and halls to
‘peasant’s hovels’.

Pargeting can be demonstrated shown in various ways, as

plastered is just that…. Flat. May look nice, but show it
some real Lime Love and the world is your oyster.
All are unique and all are part of our heritage that we and
our team of plasterers and carpenters revel in.
We write this article in part as a follow up to a similar one
that we had the pleasure of producing for the Journal
some 5 years ago. Pleased to say that within those 5 years
which have included some challenging times for this
sector and all of us we have the pleasure of continuing to
work on the fantastic heritage sector and buildings that
lie within our County of Suffolk and also further afield
into adjoining counties.
In general the projects below are some that showcase various finishes that have been found in evidence on the
structure during the preparation works. We have perhaps
enriched his and applied our own twist, but follow the
idea of either uniformity or ‘folky’ appearance of the
property. We have also had the pleasure on a number of
projects of restoring and retaining parts of the original
feature, undertaking a local repair and remodelling to
follow the lines and detail of the previous craftsmen. Case
1 and 2 below.
