The measurement is based on investments in listed shares, credit bonds and directly owned properties. Total emissions of
carbon dioxide from investments increased from 2022 to 2023 as a result of the growing portfolio. The carbon footprint,
which measures carbon emissions in relation to invested DKK million decreased by 14% from 2022 to 2023. Data for
measuring the climate footprint for the other asset classes is currently being developed. It is important to note that data on
the investments' carbon emissions isbeing developed and improved continuously as data coverage and quality improves.
Percentage of Danish properties with a DGNB Certificate in Silver or Gold:
Properties with a Silver certification
Properties with a Gold certification
Proportion of properties in the certification process
2022
12%
8%
64%
2023
57.3%
14.8%
12.6%
The proportion is calculated as the value of the properties relative to the total value of Danish properties in Industriens
Pension's portfolio. DGNB is a recognised and holistic certification system for sustainability. For new buildings,
measurements are made on the lifecycle of building materials, energy consumption etc. before, during and after
construction, whereas for buildings in use, measurements are made on reducing energy consumption, water
consumption, waste and waste management.
Industriens Pension has a guideline only to invest in buildings constructed after 2020 that have at least a DGNB
Certificate in Gold. Furthermore, efforts are being made to certify operation of existing properties in the portfolio with a
view to gradually improving their sustainability. In 2023, a number of existing properties in the portfolio were certified, so
that almost 60% of the property portfolio had a Silver certification at the end of 2023, while several new properties
achieved a Gold certification, so that almost 15% of the property portfolio had a Gold certification.
