Services for Adults with Complex Needs:
The focus of Abbott House’s work with adults with developmental disabilities
delves into the essence of human potential. People with different abilities
often have capacities and strengths that are overlooked in environments
where “management” of care overshadows growth. Their path to selfdiscovery and independence may be hindered, unwittingly, by wellmeaning caregivers. At Abbott House, we encourage people with different
abilities to take an active role in achieving their life’s potential. Through
counseling, health care, life skills, and other services, we help them define
their personal goals, achieve their dreams, and find their place in the
world.
