To the Class of 2024,
Congratulations on achieving the outstanding accomplishment of earning your degree. Today, we celebrate
your dedication and perseverance in pursuing your dreams. Your Hornet Family could not be prouder to see
you take this step into a bright future filled with possibility.
Graduating from college is a milestone achieved through the support, encouragement, and, often, the
sacrifices made by family, friends, and other supporters. As we celebrate your success, it is important that we
also honor those who helped you to get here. Take a moment to appreciate all those who helped make today
possible – from the friends and family members who offered emotional (and sometimes financial) support, to
the professors whose guidance expanded your knowledge and skills. Reaching this milestone would not have
been possible without the collective effort of those who care about your success.
Your graduation is a testament to the power of perseverance and support. You exemplify how goals can
be achieved through dedication and community. Your accomplishment will serve as motivation for others
– from family members to people you have not even met – to envision their own success. You have turned
your dream into reality, and by doing so you have inspired those who will see you cross this stage on this
momentous occasion, perhaps something no other member of your family has done before. You now have
the chance to pay it forward, to be a mentor, offering wisdom and encouragement to those still finding their
path. When you support those behind you, you create hope for others.
Though your time on campus may be ending, you will forever be part of the Hornet Family. Today, you join
a network of over 280,000 alumni of Our Sacramento State. You can best honor those who helped you on
your journey by being there for those who follow in your footsteps. You will always be extremely important
members of the Hornet Family, and we hope that you will continue to reach back and help your fellow Hornets.
Today we are proud to celebrate your graduation and eagerly anticipate the next chapters you will write
through hard work and perseverance. The foundations built at Our Sacramento State will support your
continued personal growth and professional success. Your graduation may close this phase, but it opens the
door to a lifetime of possibilities. We cannot wait to witness all you will accomplish. Congratulations! Your
Hornet Family is proud of you.
