JAIL EXCELS IN OREGON JAIL INSPECTIONS
The Oregon State Sheriff’s Association (OSSA) establishes best
practices for jails that address everything from staff training to
kitchen operations. The 320 best-practice measurements, known
as the Oregon Jail Standards (OJS), are designed to raise
the bar by improving management, reducing liability, and
creating consistency in the operation of all county jails.
The Washington County Jail has remained compliant
with these comprehensive standards since 2000 and
once again passed with flying colors for 2022.
I commend all Jail staff for the incredibly
strong results from the Oregon Jail
Standards inspection that culminated
with a 99.7% score.
They did an exceptional job and worked
incredibly hard to accomplish this mission.
The proofs provided in the 320 standards
were only in compliance because of your
diligence to do-the-right-thing, as well as
your commitment to get the job done.”
