Story
York Learning’s careers advice team
discussed potential support that Claire
could access and what she wanted to
gain, and advised her. Claire already
had a dyslexia diagnosis, so her advisor
was able to make sure everything that
they suggested was accessible for her.
The team arranged initial assessments
for English and Digital Skills courses,
and Claire got started on a ‘Keep Up
with the Children in English course’
with Family Learning. Since then,
she’s completed her Level 2 English, a
digital skills quali昀椀cation, and has got
a part-time job and a plan for further
vocational training.
Claire told us that the support she
received from York Learning has
changed her life – improving her
con昀椀dence and self-esteem, and
giving her the opportunity to meet
new people and try new things.
“My advisor has been really great.
