Hay on Wye
For host buildings as historic as the Jacobean manor house to Hay Castle, any new windows provided
must be handcrafted with an extreme level of care in order to help conserve the building's historical
integrity.
The Heritage windows we provided for use in Hay Castle
were designed bespoke to be as close as possible to a
match of the building's original leaded lights, complete
with hand-soldered lead and incorporating authentic
bronze saddlebars. All ironmongery was designed in line
with the Jacobean style and all windows were pointed in
as was typical of the era.
With the original stone mullions repaired, our bespoke
traditional diamond leaded lights fit perfectly into the
fabric of the Jacobean manor house. Bronze has always
been an ideal choice for period restorations, known for its
longevity, authenticity and ability to blend with traditional
designs. With a signature warmth and natural patina,
these windows look as though they’ve always been there.
