Over the past number of years we have gradually begun to
expand the ways in which we define impact at PeacePlayers.
We came to realize that, even though conflict transformation
through sport in and of itself is a lofty goal, there was a lot more
going on than just that.
Inspired by years of impact data and countless stories that have
emerged from the field, we identified four pillars that are at the
core of the impact we are having now, and what we hope to
achieve in the years to come.
These pillars will influence how we think and talk about our
work, and will act as a compass that will define our monitoring,
evaluation and learning – making sure we stay true to our full
set of goals.
These pillars do not represent new additions to our program –
they are things that our coaches and mentors are already doing
on the ground. Rather, the pillars are a way for us to ensure that
we are communicating the full impact of the PeacePlayers story
to the world.
Although these pillars may manifest differently at each
PeacePlayers location, depending on each site’s unique context –
they present a common thread that connects our work globally
and demonstrate a deeper commitment to building peaceful
and thriving communities.
