Welcome to the third edition of our Responsibilities report!
Another year has passed and we are still managing the complexities around the
globe caused by the coronavirus. Thankfully we have all adapted very well to remote
working and have continued to conduct our global activities with the control and
risk management processes that we are so proud of. We have continued this year
to progress our commitment to Agenda 2030 in many different ways around our
company and through our activities.
Never has there been more focus on the energy transition than there is now and our part in this
transition is at the forefront of our strategy. We are all human beings and recognize the damage that
is being caused to our planet and we all, as citizens, as parents and as lovers of our environment
and its inhabitants, are deeply concerned with the effects of climate change and we all play a role
in trying to stop the devastation that will further occur if we don’t make changes to end it.
Thankfully there are many technologies that exist and much development of
new and affordable technologies on the horizon that should allow for the global
community to move to a more sustainable future whilst still allowing the earth
inhabitants to have access to the energy that they need. As a provider of energy
throughout the globe we are intent on offering cleaner and greener energy solutions
to those who need them and to play our part in the development, creation and
provision of these more sustainable energy sources.
At the same time as promoting these new and exciting energies, we will continue
to supply more traditional energy to those who need it around the globe as there
are still many countries who need these commodities to meet their people’s basic
needs. As a company who understands markets, commodities, the logistics around
transporting, storing and transforming commodities and the world’s requirements
we are ideally placed to help our partners to further their own progressions towards
more sustainable fuels and to find ways of improving the green efficiency of how
they obtain and utilize the fuels that they need.
We are fully committed to the United Nation’s (UN’s) Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) and these goals are central to our culture and our activities. There
are a number of the 17 goals which we are able to support through our activities
and all of these are a continuous focus for our management team and all of our
people.
