In addition to building up its
employees, Crown is building
up the communities it operates
in. The company supports four
key charities every year – Eva’s
Initiatives for Homeless Youth,
New Circles Community Services,
Yellow Brick House and the
Centre for Addiction and Mental
Health Foundation – and gives
employees 16 hours of paid time
off per year to volunteer.
“We think it’s really important
that we have involvement in the
community,” says Miller, who volunteers with a group of colleagues
at the Fort York Food Bank. “If
you volunteer for four hours on
a Saturday, you get four hours
of work off. If there’s something
you’re passionate about, we want
to support you.”
