About this project
Visitors that arrive to this home are stunned by a “landscape handshake” that intuitively
guides the way to an unseen front entry door at the top of the hill. Sunset Magazine editors
who photographed the project said “…the massive scale of the towering oak trees, rising
hillside and sky are complimented by an equally scaled yet restrained composition of stout
masonry walls, a floating walkway of terraces and a distant trellis structure at the top of the
hill that acts a both an invitation to explore and as a gateway to the heavens when viewed
from the first step.”
