The decision to use a wood protection system perhaps demonstrates the architect’s experience in the use of Sweet Chestnut:

first few months following the installation of the cladding (with
stainless steel screws: tannic acid in the wood corrodes ferrous
metals) and can leave unsightly stains on the surface of the wood.
