A local PAC funded entirely in the dark
Citizens United for Less Taxes is a PAC
administered by Eric Robinson which was
exclusively funded by Phoenix Media. The
dummy corporation gave $75,000 to the PAC.
Mailers funded by Citizens United for Less
Taxes targeted Lourdes Ramirez’s bid for
District 4 County Commissioner in 2014.
Ramirez is a smart growth advocate and
served as President of Sarasota’s Council of
Neighborhood Associations (CONA). The
attack mailers portrayed the Republican as a
nutty fortune teller, showing a photo of her in a
gyspy costume for Halloween in 2011.
Ramirez owned a new age store, “Isle of
Avalon”, from 2005 - 2010. She sold
merchandise which included candles, books,
and aromatherapy items. She held meditation
