CBP impact report 2024 - Flipbook - Page 5
We have noticed a big change in our children’s reading
habits. The fact that the books are theirs and they had the
chance to choose which book they could take home, has
made them more likely not only to read the book but to talk
about it with their friends. It has also made them more
confident in picking their next read. Headteacher

Most schools and settings continue to receive a curated donation of books that represent all
reading stage, though we have run two dedicated picture book campaigns for EYFS and KS1 in 15
schools and have been fortunate to receive the support of the Felix Project in London to allow us
to gift brand new beautiful baby books within targeted communities.
The support we received from Bonnier Books enabled us to commit to
a larger pool of schools, introduce children to a broader range of titles
and helped raise the profile of industry action to tackle book poverty.
Community Champions in Birmingham and Leeds successfully trialled
an in-store Book Drive in 11 ASDA stores this spring, raising our profile
significantly and collecting a large number of books for local rehoming.
