It may be advertised or packaged differently by some, but it is important to check these detailscarefully. The starting band 5 salary currently is £24,907 per year. The salary figure quoted is for astandard NHS contract of a 37.5-hour week and total earnings can be increased, depending on thenumber of shifts you work. See below for rates paid at nights and weekends.Unsocial hours payments are additional to basic pay. Unsocial hours are the hours worked as part of thestandard contractual working week (37.5), but that are outside of what are considered to be normalworking hours., i.e. nights, weekends and public holidays.
