Nathalie Hildegarde Liege
Stained Glass Artist
and Artisan
The main activity of the studio is bespoke commissions,
having recently featured in ‘The Artisans’ photo feature
by Chris Thomond for The Guardian. You can view more
about the spirit of the studio via this link: https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/gallery/2023/mar/24/shining-alight-on-a-stained-glass-artist-in-pictures#img-6
I had the most brilliant time sharing my making processes
and even ancestral glass heritage. Chris has worked his
magic to present the art of stained glass in the most
profound way.
My main restoration experience is in late 19th century
and early 20th century, with painting work being a prominent feature within previous projects. I am most familiar
with wildlife and botanical themes.
I am ready to give a second life to historical pieces, if they
cannot be conservated in their original form, I can adapt
these old pieces to contemporary new windows.
“I would like to thank Nathalie for the fabulous job she has
done recreating my stained-glass window, a gift from my
parents, from their old house originally from the Dominican
priory near waters lane. I arrived at Nathalie's with the
remaining pieces in a small plastic box. With what I could
remember from the original and with Nathalie's amazing skills,
she produced the most beautiful piece. I cannot thank her
enough. It is different from the original with the inclusion of
the heron, the eel and the moon but this piece has always been
near the river and the wetlands and so it will remain.”–
Maggie Yates, Appleyards Delicatessen in Shrewsbury.

Nathalie’s journey into stained glass began back in 1995
when after practising Fine Art in France and working as
a guide in both the Musée d’Orsay and the Modern Art
Museum of the Pompidou Centre in Paris she moved to
the United Kingdom to study stained glass art in Swansea
and later in Wrexham.
