CROSS-CONTAMINATION
The following procedures are recommended to minimize the risk of cross-contamination
If the described cleaning, disinfection and sterilization methods are not followed careful: The safety
of operators and patients may be compromised, the service life of the unit will be compromised and
iM3 has no responsibility for the products correct functioning and safety.
Before using your Evolution Dental Unit for the first time it must be cleaned, disinfected and
sterilized as described below:
» Before using a Thero disinfector and autoclave, read the instructions for use of the devices and be
aware of the warnings provided by the manufacturers.
» For any instruments other than Xo products, always follow the cleaning, disinfection and
sterilization instructions included by the manufacturer.
» Pack items to be sterilized in sterilization packages that meet the following requirements:
• The Sterilization package must meet the applicable standards in respect of quality and use, it
must be suitable for sterilization method
• The Sterilization package must not be under tension
» Store sterile goods dust-free and dry.
The following definitions apply:

Significantly reduce the number of
pathogenic micro-organisms
Sterilization
Elimination/destruction of all living
pathogenic micro-organisms
METHOD
• Physical/chemical use of soap or detergents, will not
significantly reduce the number of pathogens
• Application of chemical disinfection to surfaces
• Application of thermos-disinfection according to ISO
15883-1:90°C /194°F, 5 minutes.
• Steam sterilization
(steam sterilizer according to EN 13060, Type B)
• 134°C/273°F for 3 minutes or
• 121°C/250°F for 15 minutes
Please note that some instruments and accessories are not
designed for thermo-disinfectors or autoclaves!
Please note that autoclaving and thermo-disinfection process
wear down the materials and may cause colour change and/or
shorten the life time.
CLEANING, DISINFECTION & STERILIZATION PROCEDURES
Except for mild soap or detergents (e.g. liquid soap) please only use detergents and disinfectants approved by iM3,
a full list can be found on www.iM3vet.com
Always follow the instructions provided in the instructions of the product for concentration and contact time.
Please note: Do not use any other disinfectants than the ones
listed on the iM3 website. Doing so may damage the unit.
Failure to comply with these precautions may affect the
Evolution product warranty. If in doubt contact iM3.
