English Hubs offer support to local schools, academies and free schools to improve the teaching of
phonics, early language and reading in Reception and Year 1.

HFL Education is a leading national provider of school improvement and business support services,
training and resources, that enable schools, settings and trusts to deliver a great education. Through
collaboration and support, they believe that every young person, through access to a great education,
should be able to realise their potential, regardless of where they live, their background or
circumstances.
The Teachers as Readers study (The Open University and UK Literacy Association) and other OU studies
have established effective ways to support children's Reading for Pleasure (RfP). Based on the research,
this website aims to support a vibrant professional community of teachers, student teachers, librarians
and English leaders in order to nurture lifelong readers.
The CLPE is a UK based literacy charity that works with primary schools to raise the achievement of
children's reading and writing by helping to teach literacy creatively and effectively, putting quality
children’s books at the heart of all learning. The CLPE’s mission is to improve the life chances of children by
ensuring that every child has access to quality experiences of literacy and that all teachers have the
knowledge and resources to support children become confident, happy and enthusiastic readers.
