Intiveo’s holistic approach empowers employees
F
or Raquel Dreesen,
the best thing about
working at Intiveo is
helping to make it fun to
go to the dentist.
“We’re all patients, we all have
to go to the dentist at some point
and Intiveo is really dedicated to
patient experience and in a way,
that’s helping ourselves,” says
Dreesen.
“My job is a lot of fun and the
people I work with are always
happy to see each other. They’re
some of the best people I have
worked with ever.”
Intiveo is a cloud-based patient
engagement platform for dental
offices and specialists who want to
engage their patients and prepare
them for their appointment,
whatever the work being done.
Headquartered in Vancouver’s
historic Chinatown, the company
helps over 15,000 health-care
providers improve the outcomes
for 18 million patients.
As the senior manager of
customer experience, Dreesen
leads a team that works to ensure
that those using the company’s
services get the most out of a hightech package that is user-friendly
and customer based. She works
remotely from Victoria and appreciates Intiveo’s flexible working
arrangements. But she also gets
the chance to connect with her
fellow employees in person at
town hall meetings, social events
and an annual summer, week-long
retreat in Vancouver.
“We’re all social beings and at
Intiveo, we’re really intentional
about the activities and the rituals
that we partake in to ensure our
culture is flourishing,” says
co-founder and CEO Joshua
DeVries.
“We’re a high-tech company but
we think it’s important we have
supporting structures that bring
people together so they don’t get
isolated in a silo.”
Connectivity is at the heart of
what Intiveo does, both for its
customers and its employees.
While Dreesen and her team exchange ideas and enjoy interacting
with other teams at events like
murder-mystery night or pumpkin carvings, the company also
makes sure they connect with the
resources they need to advance
their careers. That includes leadership training programs and an
educational fund.
“I’ve had some really great
progression at the company and
I continually get challenged and
learn more, so that’s really great
for my career and has really refined the direction I want to take,”
says Dreesen.
She also appreciates the company’s generous education and
training benefits, as well as the
health and wellness package. And
as you might expect, the dental
package is top-notch. DeVries says
it’s all part of a holistic approach
to supporting employees.
“What drives our business is
finding phenomenal people and
putting them in an environment
that motivates and encourages
them, allows them to prosper
and then just letting them loose,”
he says.
“I FEEL VALUED, MY OPINION IS VALUED AND I’M HAPPY
TAKING PART IN SOMETHING PRETTY GREAT. THAT’S
QUITE MEANINGFUL FOR ME.”
