1 | Who can vote?
You can vote in UK parliamentary general elections
if you are:
� aged 18 or over on the day of the
election;
� registered to vote (please see Section 2);
� a British, Irish or qualifying Commonwealth
citizen*;
� resident at an address in the UK (or a British
citizen living abroad; and
� not legally excluded from voting.
*A qualifying Commonwealth citizen is someone
who has leave to enter or remain in the UK, or
who doesn’t require leave. The definition of a
‘Commonwealth’ citizen includes citizens of
British Crown dependencies and British overseas
territories. For further information, including a
