Hospice services
Medicare covers hospice care services at home
when your doctor includes them in a plan for
palliative care (comfort care) for a terminal illness.
If you have Medicare Part A and meet all the
following conditions, you can get Medicare- funded
hospice care:
1.Your doctor certifies that you’re terminally ill
2.You accept palliative care instead of care to cure
your illness
3.You sign a statement choosing hospice care
instead of other Medicare-covered benefits to treat
your terminal illness and related conditions.
