Analysis
When I first took office in January
2021, one initiative I wanted to accomplish in the first half of the year
was to have an analysis of our financial health. We worked for several
months in early 2021 with the Office
of the Internal County Auditor to
complete an independent financial
analysis. It was published in June.
The findings were not surprising.
Bottom line: Our budget is tied to
the County’s financial health, and
personnel costs make up the most
significant part of our budget, which
is to be expected in a 24/7 operation.
Personnel costs will always be our
greatest financial investment.
I believe the report will help taxpayers understand how their dollars
are used by our office. With this
information, we now have a baseline
to understand financial trends in our
operations as the County grows and
demands for public-safety services
increase.

Message
FROM SHERI FF BRANDENBU RG
January 1, 2021 marked my first day as your elected Sheriff. It is
truly an honor to be elected by you and to serve as your 33rd Sheriff.
I am proud to continue the long tradition of serving the people of
Clackamas County, so all can experience and contribute to a safe
and secure community.
I hope you will enjoy the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office’s first Year
in Review, which showcases the complexity and variety of public safety
services the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office provides around
the clock.
The Review also highlights important initiatives our office is
undertaking to maintain the highest level of services to everyone, as
our county grows. You will learn about services across our organization
and our commitment to public safety. As you read the Review, I hope
you feel the same sense of pride and gratitude that I do for the
dedicated members of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office who
show up every day to help keep our community safe.
With appreciation,
Sheriff Angela Brandenburg
